Our ambition is to make Li-ion Battery Technology affordable and the technology of choice.
Todays battery efficiency highly depends on the chemical composition but also on the weight to energy ratio. This especially on vessels, as reduced weight means less drag which again means less energy consumed by the propulsion. Our batteries are now close to 30% lighter than the average systems commonly used in the marine industry.
During the process of becoming a leader of electric propulsion in the marine industry we realised that we couldn’t find the right batteries at the right price. Hence we are now developing and producing battery systems ourselves. We are only using the finest materials available. Proudly we realise that the big three german car manufacturers are starting to share our view.

Our partners and ourselves makes battery packs continuously cleaner by utilising the complete value of Lithium-Ion Cell-Technology. This by producing better designed packs and by developing smarter solutions resulting in a lower total cost of ownership for our customers. Our R&D, Engenieering and Production Departments are aligned in the efforts to create the best quality and competitive battery modules and packs with the full insight in the behaviour of the Li-ion Cell.
As we are continuously working on the optimisation of the Cycle-life it lowers the costs of service as the operational reliability increases and optimises the LCA (optimal Cycle-life and intelligent use of materials). For this matter EPT teamed up with the ‘best in class’ partners. For BMS (battery management system) and Cell design, we also have close partnerships and are involved in the design level of the components.
